Identification:

-Clump forming grass becoming a dense mass
-Long narrow leaf, burgundy color, glossy and arching
-Flowers emerge coppery red and dry to a light tan throughout the summer

Note:   Purple Fountain Grass is one of the most popular ornamental grasses in the nursery industry. This tropical grass grows rapidly and blooms continuously with burgundy red foliage and showy red flowers all season. In a mild winter, Purple Fountain Grass may overwinter, but typically is killed by cold temperatures and should be considered an annual grass in the landscape.
